Per Diem Daily Rate:$135/ Per diem for unlicensed candidates $145/Per diem for licensed candidates

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Watertown High School seeks a qualified educator to serve as ashort-term substitute Spanish teacher. The position requires maintaining a full teaching load with attendant responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- We seek a collaborative teacher who inspires students and who works effectively and creatively with colleagues.
- Candidates should be passionate about teaching have strong academic knowledge and facility with a World Languages curriculum and be able to work well with high school students.
- Watertown is committed to the practice of teaching world languages for proficiency. Candidates should have a strong background in the ACTFL proficiency guidelines and current Massachusetts Standards for teaching a world language.
- Appropriate MA certification and an undergraduate degree in Spanish or a related field are required.
- Candidates should possess both strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Candidates should fulfill the WHS mission of teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully justify their reasoning and consider multiple perspectives.
- The successful candidate will invest in the life of the school by participating in faculty and department meetings as required. Demonstrated professional behavior including discretion judgment and integrity as well as effective interaction with a diverse population of students and faculty is essential.
- All prospective employees must be able to clear the required background checks.
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelors degree or higher preferred
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
