Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Emergency Department (Pediatric ER)

Location:Syracuse NY

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM) includes every other weekend and some holidays

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Emergency Department (Pediatric ED). This is a night shift position that requires candidates to have a significant amount of experience in a Pediatric ED setting. Adult ED experience is a plus but will not be considered for candidates with only combined Adult/Peds ED experience.

The position requires strong triage skills and candidates must be formally triage trained. Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience and proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Records are preferred.

Qualifications:

• Current New York State RN License
• BLS certification required with ability to recertify
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Pediatric ED experience (within the last 2 years)
• Adult ED experience is a plus but Pediatric ED experience is required
• Formally triage trained with strong triage skills
• Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
• EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must not have had professional license or certification suspended or investigated
• Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
• All candidates are subject to drug screening and criminal background checks

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Pediatric ED
• Perform triage and nursing assessments for pediatric patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery
• Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Records for accurate documentation
• Provide care for both pediatric trauma and non-trauma patients
• Work night shifts including every other weekend and some holidays
• Perform patient care with minimal orientation and supervision
