HVAC Technician
Our client a well-established air conditioning and mechanical services company serving the San Jose area is seeking an experienced Journey-Level HVAC Technician to join their team.
About the Opportunity
This is a direct-hire opportunity with a reputable growing company with a strong track record in both residential and commercial HVAC services. Our client offers stable year-round work in one of Californias most active markets with a team that takes pride in quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including split systems package units heat pumps and ductless mini-splits across residential and commercial properties
- Perform installation of new HVAC equipment and replacement of existing systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and tune-ups
- Identify and resolve refrigerant issues electrical faults and mechanical failures
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics and equipment manuals
- Ensure all work complies with local codes safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Communicate findings recommendations and service options clearly to customers
- Maintain accurate service records work orders and parts documentation
- Keep company vehicle and tools organized clean and in good working condition
Requirements
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on HVAC field experience
- Proficiency with both residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple equipment brands
- Solid understanding of electrical refrigeration and airflow principles
- Valid California drivers license with a clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs work on rooftops in attics and in confined spaces
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or smart thermostats
- NATE certification
- Familiarity with Carrier Trane Lennox or Daikin equipment
- CA C-20 HVAC contractor license experience (or working toward licensure)
