Our client a well-established air conditioning and mechanical services company serving the San Jose area is seeking an experienced Journey-Level HVAC Technician to join their team.
About the Opportunity
This is a direct-hire opportunity with a reputable growing company with a strong track record in both residential and commercial HVAC services. Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including split systems package units heat pumps and ductless mini-splits across residential and commercial properties
Perform installation of new HVAC equipment and replacement of existing systems
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and tune-ups
Identify and resolve refrigerant issues electrical faults and mechanical failures
Read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics and equipment manuals
Ensure all work complies with local codes safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Communicate findings recommendations and service options clearly to customers
Maintain accurate service records work orders and parts documentation
Keep company vehicle and tools organized clean and in good working condition
Requirements
EPA 608 Universal Certification
Minimum 4 years of hands-on HVAC field experience
Proficiency with both residential and commercial HVAC systems
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple equipment brands
Solid understanding of electrical refrigeration and airflow principles
Valid California drivers license with a clean driving record
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs work on rooftops in attics and in confined spaces
Strong customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or smart thermostats
NATE certification
Familiarity with Carrier Trane Lennox or Daikin equipment
CA C-20 HVAC contractor license experience (or working toward licensure)
