Job Title: ASL Interpreter / Educational Sign Language Interpreter (K 12)
Location: Yreka CA 96097 (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $45 - $48/hour
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 3:30 PM

We are hiring a qualified ASL Interpreter / Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a K 12 school setting in Yreka CA. This role is critical in ensuring students have full access to classroom instruction and communication.

• Provide real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during classroom instruction
• Facilitate communication between students teachers and peers
• Support students in understanding lessons and participating in activities
• Assist during IEP meetings school programs and academic sessions
• Provide note-taking and tutoring support when interpreting is not required
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must meet California educational interpreting standards with one of the following:
  • Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
    OR
  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
    OR
  • ESSE-I / ESSE-R
    OR
  • Certification from the National Association of the Deaf (NAD/ACCI)

• Experience in K 12 or school-based interpreting
• Strong ASL fluency and classroom communication skills
• Experience supporting special education environments
• Ability to adapt to different student learning needs
