Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sign Language Interpreter to join a supportive school district in Lacey Washington. This role involves working closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing helping facilitate effective communication in classroom and school-related settings. Job Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for students in classroom instruction meetings and school activities
Facilitate communication between students teachers staff and peers
Support students access to educational content and classroom participation
Maintain professionalism confidentiality and adherence to ethical interpreting standards
Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student success
Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the school district




Requirements
Active certification or credentials required for Sign Language Interpreters in Washington
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation skills
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative educational team

Required Skills:

Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred) Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) via BEI or RID EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required Valid BLS/CPR certification Minimum of 6 months of recent experience within the last 5 years preferred
