Compensation: $20.93 - 27.91
Shift: 3rd Shift
Shift Hours: 10:30pm - 7:00am (Mon - Fri)
Shift Differential: 15%
Discover Impactful Work:
The Manufacturing Group Leader position reports to the area Manufacturing Supervisor. The Group Leader is primarily responsible for maintaining the flow of people material and information in their assigned area. They are expected to respond quickly to any interruptions in these flows and restore operations as efficiently as possible while maintaining safety and quality standards. If issues cannot be resolved the Group Leader must escalate them promptly to the appropriate personnel or team.
The Group Leader is also responsible for driving continuous improvement by identifying and reducing waste in their area focusing on the 7 wastes (Transportation Inventory Motion Waiting Overproduction Overprocessing Defects).
Additionally the Group Leader plays a key role in developing team capabilities ensuring appropriate levels of production quality/inspection and teamwork skills across their team.
A Day in the Life:
Safety / People:
- Re-assign operators as needed during shift to meet production demands
- Perform daily production planning including work assignments
- Train and coach employees (One Minute Lessons)
- Replenish supplies from stockroom
- Handle PPE requests (glasses shoes)
- Review and approve PTO requests (excluding beginning-of-year requests)
- Provide input on operator performance and behavior including PMDs
- Ensure conformance to procedures standard work QWIs and PPE
- Conduct 5S audits (beginning and end of shift)
- Perform Count-Pack audits
- Stock cleanroom/controlled environments (gloves masks etc.)
- Update cycle time and cavitation on day-by-hour boards
- Write QCF09 instructions for NCR rework when needed
- Respond quickly to flow interruptions
- Coordinate NCR rework and sorting activities
- Work with operators to resolve material flow issues
- Input scrap into SAP
Keys to Success:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience with GMP/ISO procedures
- Prior experience leading a workforce in a lean manufacturing environment preferred
- Group Leader / supervisory experience a plus
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Strong role model leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing operating conditions and varying pace requirements
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
- Ability to read write and understand English
- Computer experience helpful
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Excellent hand/eye coordination
- Ability to lift and load pallets up to 35 pounds

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $20.93$31.40.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
