Job Summary

Wirral WRAP School is an independent specialist day provision operating over 39 weeks of the year for boys and girls aged 716 with social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Based in Beechwood Wirral we are an aspirational innovative and supportive school committed to the development of both our students and staff.

We pride ourselves on fostering a positive and collaborative working environment where staff support one another both in and out of the classroom. All staff benefit from ongoing professional development including regular training in safeguarding mental health multi-agency working and special educational needs such as Autism attachment and ADHD.


About the Role
We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated and supportive team working with exceptional students who present a range of needs including SEMH and ASD.
As a Teacher you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education inspiring students and supporting their academic and personal development. You will create engaging lessons foster a positive learning environment and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all students achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the curriculum
Develop and implement schemes of work
Differentiate teaching to meet individual learning needs including SEND
Use effective behaviour management strategies including positive behaviour approaches
Provide tailored support through mentoring and targeted interventions
Monitor and assess student progress adapting teaching accordingly
Build positive relationships with students parents/carers and colleagues
Contribute to a safe supportive and inclusive learning environment

Safeguarding & Health and Safety
Maintain a safe and secure learning environment at all times
Follow all safeguarding procedures in line with school policies and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025) and proposed revisions (2026) as they become available.
Understand and implement health and safety responsibilities in accordance with WRAP policies

Personal Qualities
We are seeking a committed and motivated individual who:
Has strong organisational and administrative skills
Can analyse data and use it to inform decision-making
Has experience working with young people particularly those with SEMH needs
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is confident working with external agencies and multi-agency teams
Can remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Essential Criteria
A recognised degree in Education or a relevant subject
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
Strong understanding of SEN practices and inclusive teaching strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for education and improving outcomes for young people
