Position Summary
The In-Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct on-site clinical care to patients receiving evaluation through remote telemedicine providers. The RN is responsible for in-person triage accurate clinical data collection patient preparation for virtual provider evaluation care coordination and ensuring a safe efficient high-quality patient experience. The RN serves as the hands-on clinical extension of the telemedicine provider within the clinic setting and practices within the legal scope of the Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.

Patient Intake & Triage
- Welcome room and prepare patients presenting to the clinic for telemedicine visits.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs chief complaint medical history allergies current medications and reason for visit.
- Perform nursing triage and assessment to identify patient acuity recognize emergent conditions and escalate concerns immediately to the appropriate provider or emergency services.
- Collect symptom details and relevant history to support provider clinical decision-making.
- Complete all documentation accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Telemedicine Visit Support
- Prepare the patient and exam room for virtual provider consultation.
- Connect patients to the telemedicine platform and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Remain available during virtual visits to assist the provider and patient as needed.
- Perform delegated clinical tasks within the RN scope of practice including point-of-care testing specimen collection wound care medication administration immunizations (where applicable) and patient education in accordance with provider orders standing orders and applicable state board of nursing regulations.
- Serve as the in-clinic clinical liaison between the patient and the remote provider.
Clinical Coordination
- Communicate abnormal findings changes in patient condition or urgent concerns promptly to the provider.
- Carry out provider orders including labs medications discharge instructions referrals and follow-up coordination.
- Ensure prescriptions school/work notes and care plans are completed prior to discharge when applicable.
- Assist with patient flow to maintain efficient visit turnaround times.
Patient Education & Experience
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis medications treatment plans home care and return precautions.
- Reinforce provider instructions and respond to nursing-related questions.
- Deliver compassionate professional family-centered care to all patients.
Compliance Safety & Quality
- Maintain infection control standards room readiness and supply management.
- Adhere to all nursing standards applicable state Board of Nursing regulations the Nurse Practice Act company policies HIPAA OSHA and standing orders.
- Follow safe medication handling storage and administration practices in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives audits in-service training and staff meetings.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protected health information (PHI) at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (or compact state license valid in the state of practice).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent.
- A minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated assessment and triage skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard clinical technology platforms.
- Effective verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening as permitted by applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in urgent care emergency department pediatrics family practice or outpatient clinic settings.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Prior telemedicine workflow experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language) skills.

- Ability to remain on feet (standing/walking) for extended periods during a shift with the ability to alternate positions as needed.
- Ability to bend stoop reach and assist with patient positioning.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g. supplies equipment); occasional team-lift assistance with patients may be required.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment computers and perform clinical procedures.
- Visual acuity (with or without correction) sufficient to read EMR screens medication labels and assess patients.
- Hearing ability (with or without aids) sufficient to communicate with patients providers via telemedicine platform and respond to clinical alarms.
Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens infectious diseases and hazardous materials with required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) per OSHA standards.
- Work is performed primarily indoors in a clinical environment with variable patient volumes and pace.
