Your role and responsibilities

As a Commissioning and Contracts Officer in our Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Strategic Commissioning service youll play a key role in supporting how services are planned commissioned and managed. Your work will help ensure children and young people receive highquality sustainable services that meet their needs.

On a typical day you might be analysing data to support commissioning decisions working with providers to improve performance or supporting contract management activity across a varied portfolio. Youll work closely with colleagues across social care home finding fostering childrens homes and procurement helping teams work efficiently and effectively.

You will:

  • Support commissioning and contract management activity across CYP services
  • Help monitor contracts to ensure quality value for money and performance
  • Work with providers and partners to support good relationships and service improvement
  • Contribute to market development activity including research and engagement
  • Support improvements to processes workflows and ways of working
  • Use data and insight to inform decisions and highlight risks or opportunities

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience including commissioning or contract management experience
  • Experience supporting service planning contract management or market development
  • Good data analysis skills and the ability to explain information clearly
  • Experience working with providers stakeholders or partners
  • Confidence building positive working relationships
  • A practical organised approach and attention to detail

Youll join the Strategic Commissioning Contracts and Home Finding teams within Children and Young Peoples Services. We work in a fastpaced environment where collaboration and flexibility really matter.
