Job Title: Dental Assistant
Location: New York NY
Schedule: MondayFriday 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Duration: 12-week contract with possible extension
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in New York NY. This role will support the dentist during examinations and treatments ensuring efficient patient care and maintaining a clean organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience assisting with oral surgery procedures and be committed to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments including oral surgery procedures
- Prepare and seat patients adjusting dental chairs and equipment as needed
- Set up and organize dental instruments materials and equipment before procedures
- Pass instruments to the dentist and provide chairside assistance during procedures
- Operate suction equipment to maintain a clear dry working area in the patients mouth
- Provide post-procedure care and assist patients with mouthwash and other treatments
- Assist with tooth extractions and other surgical interventions
- Clean sterilize and maintain dental instruments and treatment areas
- Prepare and manage dental materials including mixing amalgam and other filling substances
- Maintain accurate patient records including treatment notes and appointment scheduling
- Assist with dental X-rays including taking and processing images (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Prior experience assisting in oral surgery required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program required

- Strong knowledge of dental procedures and instruments
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity including standing for extended periods bending and lifting
