The Plate Mounter roleis responsible for affixing plates to cylinders in accordance withjob ticket specifications at our flexographic label work at MCC:Compensation: $20.00 hourlyShift premium ($1.00 for 2nd $2.00 for 3rd)Generous benefits package including medical dental vision disability life insurance and 401(k)Paid Holidays: New Years Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day plus two floating HolidaysResponsibilities:Comply withall company and safety policies and proceduresAbility to read job tickets carefully beforeoperatingequipment to ensure customer specifications are metAbility to easily use a computer to view production schedule; ability to recognize like jobs or scheduling improvement opportunities to support business efficienciesRegular quick movement throughout the facility and work area to mount plants for upcoming jobsGathers necessary cylinders tools and tint sleeves per job ticket instructionsPulls plates from the envelope to verify condition and number of platesCuts plates to the proper length according to scaleVerifies proper sticky back to use according to the plate negatives envelopeMounts plates according to job ticket instructionsStage job orders on the counter according to the specified press and in order of the current scheduleMake plates when necessaryPulls plates from the central file. Organization tracking and cleanliness of the area and plate file are for the cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace; light maintenance of machinery and slitting blades may also be requiredParticipation in department meetings process improvement events training and safety program as scheduledResponsible for working overtime when needed and as assignedRelated duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrintshop experience helpful but notrequiredAbility to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team playerAbility to read and understand a job ticketAbility to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)Ability to input data into the computerAbility to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructionsAbility to stand and move around the press area for long periodsof timeThe physical demands require standing using hands to feel and touch; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing.
