Job Summary

**This is a full-release teacher leader position**

Position Title: Curriculum Facilitator

Reports To: Director of Teaching & Learning

Purpose: The Curriculum Facilitator is responsible for leading the planning delivery and monitoring of professional development and curriculum implementation efforts. Using implementation science this role ensures instructional practices are adopted effectively and sustained across the district to advance teaching and learning. The Curriculum Facilitator also supports the Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) framework promotes data-driven decision-making and provides guidance to curriculum leads to align curriculum initiatives with district-wide instructional goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience with at least one recent year in the Urbandale Community School District.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and support peers.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design instructional practices and assessment practices that promote equitable student outcomes.
  • Expertise in adult learning pedagogy (andragogy) and proven ability to lead professional development.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with implementation science for effective curriculum adoption and sustained use.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and Facilitating Professional Learning
  • Design and deliver professional development using adult learning principles meeting the diverse needs of educators.
  • Provide learning opportunities that support teachers and curriculum leads in implementing the written intended assessed and enacted curriculum.
  • Foster reflective practices and encourage continuous improvement in instructional strategies through targeted professional learning.
  • Curriculum Implementation Support
    • Apply implementation science to guide and evaluate the adoption of instructional practices and curriculum materials.
    • Ensure alignment of curriculum implementation with district goals.
    • Partner with teachers and curriculum leads to support the consistent high-fidelity enactment of curriculum within classrooms.
  • Leadership in Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) and Data-Based Decision Making
    • Lead and support the implementation of MTSS by aligning curriculum and instructional practices with tiered support strategies.
    • Use assessment data to guide decisions monitor curriculum effectiveness and adjust practices to meet students varying academic and social-emotional needs.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to review data ensuring curriculum and professional learning efforts support broader school improvement goals.
  • Collaboration with Teacher Leaders and Administrators
    • Partner with administrators curriculum leads and teacher leaders to align professional learning with school and district objectives.
    • Engage in ongoing communication with instructional leadership teams to monitor progress and adjust curriculum initiatives as needed.
    • Provide resources feedback and support to curriculum leads to reinforce curriculum implementation and instructional strategies across the district.
  • Guidance and Support for Curriculum Leads
    • Mentor curriculum leads equipping them with resources and skills to support teachers effectively in curriculum and instructional practices.
    • Ensure alignment between written curriculum and classroom implementation helping curriculum leads address challenges in real-time.
    • Provide continuous support and feedback to foster collaboration and strengthen instructional practices ultimately advancing student achievement.
  • Instructional Practices that Advance a Culture of Dignity & Belonging
    • Support educators in implementing grade-level affirming and culturally responsive practices that meet diverse student needs.
    • Coach teachers on instructional strategies that foster a culture of dignity and belonging.
    • Ensure instructional practices reflect high expectations and engage all students in meaningful relevant ways.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of professional development and curriculum implementation using assessment data observations and teacher feedback.
    • Use data insights to guide curriculum adjustments and professional learning priorities enhancing student learning outcomes.
    • Collaborate with school leadership to ensure professional learning efforts align with broader school and district goals for student achievement.

    Additional Days: 10 days
    Stipend: $7500
