Job Summary

Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager for Perioperative Services Anaesthetic on a fixedterm basis until May 2027.

This role plays a key leadership function within the perioperative team supporting the overall clinical management of the perioperative environment and delivering highquality

patientcentred care.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager provides supervision and support to junior staff contributes to safe and effective service delivery and deputises for the Nursing Unit Manager as required.

The Position:

  • Provide leadership and direction to team and act as a role model and resource person.

  • Responsible for assisting the Perioperative Services Manager in following issues pertaining to human resources within the department.

  • Maintains and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective team work between staff patient relative doctors and ancillary staff.

  • Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment

  • Participate in contribute to and implement quality improvement and risk management into all aspects of service.

  • Participate in the documentation of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for activities that could pose an OHS risk.

  • Demonstrates progress towards the achievement of goals and personal and professional growth

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse you will have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing. As a leader you will demonstrate ability to develop and build effective nursing medical and interdisciplinary relationships and teams.

To succeed you will have delegation planning organisational and motivational skills be committed to on-going education and self-directed learning and effectively communicate and educate patients family and staff.

We will offer you

  • Salary: $115908 to $119811 per annum (pro rata if part time) plus 12% superannuation.

  • Fixed-term 12month permanent parttime position working up to 60 hours per fortnight until May 2027.
