POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides overall management of the Wake County School Systems (WCPSS) Energy and Physical Plant function of Maintenance and Operations. The department is comprised of Energy Management HVAC Electrical Plumbing and other licensed trade shops. Develops and implements a comprehensive annual work plan. Develops and monitors comprehensive utility budget for the district. Contributes to development and review of plans for existing and upcoming projects. Assists the Senior Director in the preparation and management of the Energy and Physical Plants budget. Provides oversight of the WCPSS procedure and policy compliance to ensure sound business principals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principals practices and procedures of public-school system policies and federal state and local regulatory requirements;
Skills in effective leadership of adults including coaching evaluation and team building among a variety of stakeholders;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information collaborative efforts and feedback;
Othercombinationsofapplicableeducationtrainingandexperiencewhichprovidetheknowledgeskillsand abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
This job operates in an indoor and outdoor environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers scanners and copiers. The position at times must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff contractors vendors and external agencies. Work is considered medium physical work requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds of force. The work occasionally requires driving automotive equipment. Visits to construction sites schools and administrative office around Wake County require frequent driving and walking.
