About the Role

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient-centred haematology services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical haematology services including diagnosis and management of benign and malignant blood disorders

  • Participate in laboratory haematology services including morphology and transfusion medicine

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance activities

  • Supervise and support junior medical staff and allied health professionals

  • Engage in teaching training audit and research activities

  • Ensure compliance with national standards clinical guidelines and HSE policies

Job requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Specialist registration in the Division of Haematology of the Irish Medical Council or be eligible for registration

  • Significant experience in clinical and laboratory haematology

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and clinical excellence

  • Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland or equivalent

  • Experience in subspecialty areas (e.g. haemato-oncology coagulation disorders)

  • Proven involvement in research or quality improvement initiatives
