Crane Yard Technician

Summary/Objective:

The Crane Yard Technician is responsible for safely operating cranes and heavy equipment in the yard performing on/off rent inspections conducting preventative maintenance and supporting daily yard operations. This role ensures equipment readiness safety compliance and efficient fleet movement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cranes forklifts and haul equipment to load unload and move cranes and components
• Perform on-rent and off-rent inspections and document equipment condition
• Conduct preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs
• Assist with crane assembly disassembly and configuration
• Support rigging and proper lifting techniques
• Maintain yard organization and equipment staging
• Washing cranes as needed
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
• Identify and report equipment issues proactively
• Support general yard duties and logistics as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience operating cranes or heavy equipment preferred
• NCCCO certification (LBC/TLL) preferred but not required
• Basic mechanical knowledge and maintenance experience
• Valid drivers license with clean record
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass drug test background check and fit-for-duty exam

Physical Demands:

Work is performed outdoors and may include exposure to extreme temperatures noise dust and heavy equipment operation.
