IT Security Specialist

Roles/Responsibilities:

Under general direction evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal data controls business and technical processes and the performance of the organizations technology platforms to ensure the integrity of the organizations systems and data. Performs security and integrity reviews of the organizations data or IT systems.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Minimum 2 years hands on experience in at least one (1) of the following areas:
   1. SOC Analyst
   2. Threat hunting
   3. Detection engineering o Network Security engineering
2. Experience in client facing environments including active correspondence via email instant message voice/video calls with screen sharing
3. Minimum 2 years experience in active troubleshooting of technical systems including creation of documentation
4. Strong desire to learn grow and stay connected to the changing threat landscape
5. Ability to discuss the fundamentals of information security in at least THREE (3) of the following areas:
   1. Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC)
   2. Cloud and hosted applications o Containerization
   3. Application security
   4. Network security and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTNA/NetSec)
   5. Endpoint security and OS hardening
   6. Security tooling and reporting automation (leveraging PowerShell/Python/Bash etc. to drive data into reports and dashboards)
   7. Malware analysis/forensic system analysis
   8. Incident response and remediation
   9. Penetration testing of Apps endpoints or devices
   10. Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) including automation of feeds and processing of incoming alerts/vulnerabilities o Vulnerability Management
   11. Data Protection

Desirable Skills:

1. ISACA CRISC cert
2. ISC2 SSCP cert
3. Hands-on experience with SOAR and other automations
4. Hands-on experience using common AI models for automation reporting or research
5. Familiar with various NIST frameworks such as CSF 2.0 800-207 and 800-53
6. Familiar with MITREATT&CK framework
7. Familiar with OWASP and web application penetration testing
8. Connections to the larger infosec community
