Job Title: Wound Care Registered Nurse
Location: Apple Valley CA
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized wound care services managing patient treatment plans and coordinating care for individuals with complex wound care needs. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in wound care a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and a certification in wound care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wound Care Management: Assess plan and provide treatment for patients with various types of wounds including surgical pressure ulcers diabetic and more.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on proper wound care prevention strategies and the healing process.
- Documentation: Utilize Epic (highly preferred) to accurately document wound care assessments treatments and patient progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Monitoring: Track and report on wound healing progress and make recommendations for modifications in care as needed.
- Certification: Maintain Wound Care Certification (WCON) and other relevant certifications to ensure high standards of care.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of hospital experience in wound care or a related specialty.
- Wound Care Certification (WCON) is required.
- ACLS (Preferred) BLS (Required).
- Epic experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple patient care needs simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with medical teams and patients.
