Summary/Job Objective: The Administrative Director a key leader within the School of Nursing provides comprehensive professional and administrative support to the School of Nursing (SON) to develop and implement plans consistent with the goals of Traditional and the Graduate & Professional Studies (GPS) Programs. Work collaboratively with the Dean and Directors to coordinate and supervise daily operations ensuring compliance with nursing accreditation regulations and internal policies. This administrative professional performs critical administrative leadership and management of activities related to students administrative professionals and faculty across programs in the School of Nursing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Management for the School of Nursing:
- Supervise and evaluate administrative professionals of the SON fostering a healthy work environment.
- Oversee recruitment hiring onboarding training performance management and employee relations for administrative personnel.
- Ensure compliance policies and procedures of Roberts and external partnerships.
- Assist the Dean and Directors in developing and implementing plans and goals for academic and clinical immersion experiences of the SON.
- Ensure consistency and compliance among external accreditation bodies regulatory agencies and internal policies;
- Participates or assigns designee in interviewing selecting and hiring staff and adjunct faculty.
Administrative Leadership and Management of Nursing Programs of the SON:
- In collaboration with Directors oversee the coordination of scheduling for on-campus labs/simulations and off-campus clinical immersion experiences:
- Interface with individuals from area health care systems hospitals for clinical immersion experiences
- Participate in Rochester Area of Schools of Nursing (RASON) consortium with Directors to continually stay informed of requirements and network for clinical experiences;
- Oversee the assignment of students to off-campus clinical immersion experiences
- Oversee the coordination of schedules for on-campus skills labs and simulations
- Develop and supervise the administrative process for the required records to ensure compliance and consistency with accreditation agencies regulatory bodies and internal policies:
- The initiation and maintenance of contracts/memorandums of understanding with external partners;
- Students and faculty compliance for clinical immersion experiences:
- Oversee the coordination orientation and evaluation of students faculty and preceptors.
- Oversee the administrative professionals enacting the process of contracts for payment of faculty across nursing programs.
- Oversee the evaluation processes for courses programs clinical immersions consistent with the Systematic Evaluation Plan.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the School including facilities management space allocation equipment maintenance and procurement of supplies.
- Develop and implement efficient administrative processes and procedures.
Technology Management:
- Collaborate with IT to ensure effective utilization of technology resources within the School;
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of administrative systems and software.
- Assist in the management of the on campus clinical learning resources of the School of Nursing/Dorothy Whittingham Simulation Center such as previewing new equipment for ongoing budgetary/inventory assessment and monitoring.
Fiscal/Budgetary Responsibilities :
- Supports budget managers of the SON to develop implement and analyze multiple budgets to ensure responsible stewardship. This includes:
- Budget preparation monitoring analysis and reporting;
- Identification and implementation cost-saving measures while maintaining quality.
- Supervises:
- monthly reports for department institutional credit card account(s);
- SON faculty growth and development funds;
- honoraria distribution;
- Processing of invoices/payments
Compliance and Accreditation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant university/institutional policies as well as state and federal regulations related to nursing education;
- Support the Schools accreditation processes;
- Create reports and submit them to the Directors and Dean of the School of Nursing as requested.
Strategic Planning:
- Consistent with institutional strategic plan contribute to the development and implementation of the Schools strategic plan;
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between the School of Nursing and intra-/inter-institutional departments;
- Communicate effectively with faculty staff students and external stakeholders.
Special Projects:
- In collaboration with Dean and Assistant Administration Director oversee and lead assignments for special projects/events (e.g. dedication ceremonies conferences accreditation projects advisory board meetings community and campus events guest lectures etc.) administrative professionals.
- Supervise administrative support of grant acquisition and management
Representation and Leadership:
- Lead Staff Meetings and report at School of Nursing meetings;
- Participate in meeting of the Leadership Team in the SON;
- Ensure communication to relevant stakeholders (students faculty and external constituents);
- Utilize software required by clinical partners for managing external clinical placements for nursing students.
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive administrative experience in higher education preferably in a school of nursing or other health-related setting.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management human resources management and operations management.

- Ability to work effectively in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of accreditation processes and regulatory requirements related to nursing education.
