Job Summary
The Faculty Development Council (FDC) and the Office of the Provost are pleased to accept applications for the Pedagogical Innovation Grant.
OBJECTIVE
These grants are intended to support faculty in innovative teaching that advances Chapman Universitys mission of providing students with a personalized education of distinction that leads to inquiring ethical and productive lives as global will be given to pedagogical innovations with a lasting impact that promote open and active learning and academic uses of technology. Pedagogical innovation is to be conceived broadly including such things as:
- Creation of a new course that incorporates innovative content and/or methods
- Reconceptualization or comprehensive revision of an existing course
- Addition of a new and innovative component to an existing course
- Development of new modes of teaching and/or learning
- Formation of innovative new programs or courses of study
GRANTS
Faculty may request grants in any amount up to $ may be used for such purpose as: arranging guest speakers and field trips developing workshops and service-learning opportunities purchasing equipment software and supplies etc. (Please be aware that all non-expendable equipment and materials purchased with grant funds remain the property of the University. For this reason faculty may not supplement grant funds with their own funds to purchase non-expendable equipment and materials.)Faculty may request a stipend to offset their time investments but the majority of the amount requested should be for reimbursable expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
All full-time faculty are eligible to apply for these grants including past pedagogical innovation proposed must be for the academic year immediately following the year of the members may only receive one grant award for a particular pedagogical innovation.
