JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Food Science Department is seeking a part-time research assistant to work in Yi Zhangs lab to help with the following:
Conduct experiments in protein purification and quantification
Set up and perform laboratory protocols and experiments using fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) equipment to purify and quantify characterize food proteins from mixture
Prepare buffers reagents standards and samples.
Operate and maintain relevant laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers plate readers pH meters centrifuges.
Collect and analyze data
Record experimental procedures and observations.
Conduct routine statistical analyses (e.g. summary statistics t-tests/ANOVA) and generate figures tables and concise summaries.
Interpret results and report.
Assist in lab management
Prepare purchase requests.
Track orders confirm receipt.
Maintain lab SOPs.
