Lead Engineer, ELVICT Data Center
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
1. System Architecture & Concept Design
- Define complete ELV / IBMS architecture including:
- CCTV VMS
- Access Control (multi-factor authentication)
- Perimeter security (PIDS ANPR UVSS barriers)
- Fire Alarm Systems (FAS VESDA)
- PA/VA systems
- BMS / EPMS / DCIM integration
- Develop:
- Zoning strategy (multi-layer security architecture)
- System redundancy philosophy (no single point of failure)
- Network topology (fiber backbone edge architecture)
- Define integration strategy aligned with:
- TIA-942
- ISO 27001 physical security requirements
2. Detailed Design & Engineering
a. System Engineering
- Develop and review:
- ELV schematics and network diagrams
- IBMS architecture diagrams
- Cause & Effect matrices
- Sequence of Operations (SOO)
- I/O lists and control logic
b. BMS / IBMS Design (CORE REQUIREMENT)
- Design complete BMS / IBMS solution including:
- HVAC monitoring and control
- Electrical monitoring (EPMS integration)
- Energy management
- Alarm management and analytics
- Define:
- PLC architecture and redundancy
- Server architecture (ActiveActive systems)
- Communication protocols:
- BACnet / Modbus / IEC-61850 / OPC UA
c. Security System Engineering
- Design:
- Access control zoning (1-factor 2-factor 3-factor authentication)
- SOC workflows and monitoring systems
- CCTV coverage strategy (critical perimeter internal zones)
- Define:
- Security workflows for:
- Vehicle entry
- Pedestrian access
- Data hall access
- Security workflows for:
- Integrate all systems into unified IBMS
3. Integration & Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Electrical (EPMS power monitoring)
- Mechanical (HVAC controls sensors)
- ICT / IT (network servers storage)
- DCIM platforms
- Ensure:
- Seamless system interoperability
- Protocol-level integration
- No data or control conflicts
4. Documentation & Tendering
- Prepare and own:
- Design Basis Reports (DBR)
- Technical specifications
- BOQs and equipment schedules
- Lead:
- Vendor technical evaluations
- Submittal reviews
- Compliance checks
5. Construction Testing & Commissioning (CRITICAL)
- Support:
- Installation and site execution
- Support and participate by writing scripts & test procedures during:
- FAT / SAT
- System testing and validation
- Cause & Effect verification
- Integrated System Testing (IST)
- Ensure:
- Full IBMS integration and functionality
- System redundancy and failover validation
6. Quality Risk & Delivery
- Ensure compliance with:
- QMS procedures
- Project timelines and deliverables
- Own:
- Design risks
- System integration risks
- Change management
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Strong experience in:
- ELV / IBMS design for Data Centers or mission-critical facilities
- Proven capability to design:
- Complete BMS / IBMS solution (end-to-end)
- Deep understanding of:
- System integration and interoperability
- Multi-layer security architecture
Systems Knowledge
- Hands-on experience in:
- BMS / IBMS / EPMS / DCIM integration
- PLC systems and control logic
- ELV systems (CCTV ACS FAS PA/VA)
Protocols & Standards
- Knowledge of:
- BACnet Modbus IEC-61850 OPC UA
- TIA-942
- NFPA / NBC
- ISO 27001 (physical security)
Tools & Digital Capability
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Revit / BIM coordination
- ELV / network design tools
Communication (CRITICAL)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to:
- Lead client technical discussions
- Explain system architecture clearly
- Resolve integration challenges across disciplines
Qualifications :
Qualifications & Experience
- BE / BTech in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Telecom
- 10 years total experience
- 5 years in Data Center / mission-critical projects
Good to Have
- Experience in hyperscale data centers
- OEM certifications (Honeywell JCI Schneider Siemens etc.)
- Exposure to:
- Commissioning and IST
- SOC design and workflows
