What youll do
A critical part of AstraZenecas success we provide medical leadership across the whole product lifecycle from advising on Research & Development investment decisions to leading pre-launch scientific efforts and accelerating evidence-based healthcare changes in the real world.
The job responsibilities include:
Provide a comprehensive second-line technical and scientific information service to external customers in line with company and industry standards
Prepare maintain and continuously improve standard response documents for assigned AZ products including proactive gap identification.
Maintain strong working relationships with aligned members of the UK cross-functional team and Global Medical Information team for aligned brands
Demonstrate good knowledge of therapy areas competitor landscape and AZ medical & commercial strategies.
Proactively identify new (and support ongoing) innovation opportunities in the Medical Information area.
Support the Out of Hours Medical Information service on a rota basis if required
Develop regular and tangible medical information trends and insights and provide them to aligned brand and medical teams
Maintain strong working relationships and insight and knowledge sharing with aligned medical field team members (MSLs and Medical Educators)
Identification of areas for improvement in product knowledge in Sales teams based on enquiry insights
Perform technical review on new/updated local promotional material for aligned brands as required
Contribute to Medical mentoring support to Development Team through the delivery of product and/or therapy area training to sales/customer service staff.
Contribute where appropriate to the development and execution of medical brand plans.
Manage and maintain complete documentation for the Dx program in line with internal policies and audit requirements.
Serve as the primary contact for Dx vendors overseeing monthly reporting invoice receipt/verification and issue resolution.
Act as the liaison to the sales team to coordinate logistics and testing workflows ensuring smooth end-to-end execution.
Collect track and reconcile Dx program voucher requests and usage maintaining accurate records and controls.
Compile validate and maintain monthly Dx program reports ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
Essential for the role
Life science degree or appropriate professional qualifications
Experience in Medical Information
Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Experience with external customer interactions
Ability to optimally influence and interact with cross-functional colleagues
Understanding of basic pharmacovigilance concepts and requirements
Desirable for the role
Postgraduate qualification in the medical/scientific field
Product/therapy area knowledge for AZ brands/products
Awareness of NHS customer groups and other key customers
Knowledge of ABPI Code of Practice
Experience in medical writing
Broad range of IT experience
Project management experience
Proficient in business communication
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Technical review of promotional material experience
