Position Summary:
Leadership of Team & Strategic Progress
- Lead and mentor the UCCD team maximising diverse individual skills to ensure the highest calibre of guidance for every student.
- Establish and uphold clear performance expectations and quality standards for all counsellors specifically regarding caseload management and application quality.
- Develop and implement robust systems to track student progress university application milestones and matriculation data to ensure no student the highest standard of counselling for all students
- Work closely with the Senior School Leadership Team to co-construct and achieve strategic goals while managing operational implementation.
Communication
- Lead a well-in-time communication strategy providing proactive clear and high-impact information to families students and teachers.
- Act as a primary bridge between the school and families building rapport and ensuring parents feel supported and informed throughout the Find your Fit journey.
- Lead workshops presentations and higher education information sessions serving as a confident and knowledgeable voice for the school.
Operational Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a progressive multi-year careers and post-secondary guidance program for the Upper School (Grades 712).
- Directly oversee the university application process for a specific caseload of students ensuring all materials meet the highest institutional standards.
- Maintain and grow the schools global profile through university tours campus visits and attendance at international conferences.
- Ensure students are identifying and successfully navigating post-secondary scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
- Manage the Careers and Post-Secondary Education Centre resources and administrative systems (e.g. Naviance/Maia Learning).
The Ideal Candidate Profile
Leadership & Communication:
- Experience managing a professional team setting goals and holding staff accountable for high-stakes outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal and intercultural skills; ability to communicate complex information clearly to a multicultural audience.
- Strong organisational skills with a data-driven approach to tracking student success and matriculation.
Technical Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of the IB Diploma and its specific implications for global higher education.
- In-depth knowledge of admissions landscapes in North America the UK and international markets including standardised testing (SAT ACT TOEFL).
- Familiarity with international application portals (OUAC Common App UCAS) and career guidance platforms.
