Are you the sort of person who likes to support others in their career journey TheNorthern Land Council is looking for an inspirational Women Ranger Mentor to join our Caring for Country team.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in supporting Aboriginal women to build strong sustainable careers in land and sea management.

As the Womens Ranger Mentor you will support the delivery of the NLC Womens Ranger Strategy by providing practical mentoring guidance and advocacy for women rangers across the Caring for Country program. You will work closely with ranger groups coordinators and communities to create culturally safe respectful and empowering workplaces where women can thrive and progress.

What you will bring

You will have experience supporting and empowering Aboriginal people in the workplace with strong mentoring coaching and relationship-building capabilities. Your understanding of cultural practices kinship and remote community contexts will help you succeed in this role.

In addition to this you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in supporting and empowering Aboriginal employees to identify and address barriers to succeeding in work including demonstrated mentoring counselling mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of cultural practices kinship and Aboriginal Languages.
  • Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal women in remote NT communities.
  • Strong mentoring skills including active listening empathy problem solving and providing constructive feedback.

We offer:

  • A base salary of $76946 per annum plus 15% superannuation
  • salary sacrificing up to $15900 Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowance of up to $4884 (DA2) per annum for individuals with dependents and $2678 (DA1) without dependents.
    • Generous leave provisions: 5 weeks annual leave and18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmas close down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare allowance with a net (in hand) value of $3177
