Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR RN)
Location: Rochester NY
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Evening Shift (01:00 PM 11:30 PM)
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts
On-Call Requirement: Yes
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to support a high-acuity surgical department. This role requires flexibility to adjust shifts as needed and strong experience across multiple surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams while maintaining sterile technique
- Prepare operating rooms instruments and equipment
- Monitor patients before during and after surgery
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to surgical protocols
- Document all patient care accurately in the EMR system
- Participate in on-call rotation
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
- BLS certification required
- Strong skills in IV placement and phlebotomy
- Ability to work across multiple surgical specialties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
- Prior experience in high-acuity or multi-specialty OR settings
