As part of Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management GS Growth is a dedicated team within Goldman Sachs for investing in private growth-stage businesses. We are a global team across 9 offices in 7 countries with $10bn of AUM and a 25 year investing history.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

GS Growth is currently seeking Analysts to specialize in equity investing and asset management across our large diverse and dynamic portfolio. Individual will play an integral role in critical elements of investing and portfolio company monitoring processes. Team members will be aligned to Growth Equity strategy. Job Responsibilities will include:

Deal Sourcing and Pipeline Development

• Proactively assist in sourcing screening and evaluating investment opportunities in private companies operating globally in early / growth stages of funding
• Actively develop top-of-funnel pipeline through market research to identify and evaluate high potential investment opportunities; Also build sector thematic reports and run various market analyses to track companies
• Strong knowledge of business operations and financial statements combined with an interest in technology and software companies

Deal Evaluation and Underwriting

• Develop investment theses memos and other supporting documents to evaluate investment opportunities and present recommendations to the Investment Committee (IC) for decision-making
• Build and synthesize key analysis using data received during business diligence phase including historical growth and margins core KPIs and unit economics cohorts and retention financial projections and returns to GS
• Coordinate across various internal teams and third-party diligence vendors to facilitate completion of respective due diligences and deal execution workstreams

Portfolio Management and Value Creation

• Produce and present periodic portfolio company monitoring memos including but not limited to updates pertaining to company performance public peers performance comparison of actual financial results to company projections and key company developments particularly those with implications to investment performance
• Maintain and update portfolio company models unit economics business performance market changes financial models for secondary / follow on investments
• Develop and execute strategic projects related to process automations of portfolio monitoring and tracking activities

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Strong academic background with an MBA in Finance; Additional CA / CFA degree would be preferred
• Excellent analytical critical thinking and verbal & writing capabilities
• Strong team orientation with a commitment to excellence integrity and collaboration
• Must have the ability to operate effectively with various stakeholders in multiple groups and regions
• Experience in relevant roles such as Private equity Investment banking Equity research would be preferred
