The Opportunity

KBR is seeking a Senior Engineer to support sustainment and lifecycle engineering within the GWEO program. This role sits within a complex Defence engineering environment focusing on technical governance sustainment and lifecycle management of mission-critical systems.

You will contribute to the delivery of sovereign guided weapons and explosive ordnance capability supporting national Defence priorities and sustainment outcomes. The role involves leading engineering planning and execution across complex Defence projects managing scope schedule risk and technical delivery while ensuring capability is delivered maintained and improved in line with Defence requirement

Responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of complex Defence engineering activities within GWEO programs
  • Manage project scope schedule risk and budget performance
  • Apply systems engineering across requirements integration verification and validation
  • Oversee technical assurance certification and configuration management
  • Ensure safety and compliance across Defence materiel systems
  • Provide engineering advice to Defence stakeholders and support technical reporting
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders including Defence and industry partners
  • Support Engineering Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and governance activities
  • Identify and mitigate risks resource constraints and delivery issues
  • Mentor and support engineering teams to achieve program outcomes

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 810 years experience in Defence or complex engineering environments
  • Strong systems engineering and configuration management experience
  • Experience working within Defence frameworks (CASG / DMO preferred)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work within complex governance and technical environments
  • Eligible for Engineering Authority within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO)

Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
