New Hire Experience: | 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement up to aten-year maximum |
New Hire Education: | 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position |
Job Summary:
To assist audiologist in the performance of student hearing screenings throughout the district. Hearing screening training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist audiologists in conducting hearing screenings and assessments
- Set up and operate audiology equipment under supervision
- Assist with classroom modifications to meet hearing needs
- Work closely with audiologists speech-language pathologists special education teachers and general educators
- Sanitize and store audiological equipment properly
- Ensure proper hygiene practices with hearing devices
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent

- Assist audiologist in the performance of student hearing screenings
- Travel to various school sites as assigned to assist in the student hearing screenings

- Ability to maintain confidentially
- Ability to operate general office machines
- Ability to work well with students and staff; good verbal and written communication skills
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequent interaction with students teachers audiologists and other support staff
- Travel to various school sites as assigned to assist in the student hearing screenings
- The day can shift from calm observation to active student engagement and equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to move between classrooms bend kneel and sit at child-level for extended periods
- Occasionally lift or carry equipment (up to 25 lbs)
