Job Description:
Under general supervision from the department chair the department administrator and/or course directors this position will assist in the management of multiple courses within the department. This position will also perform additional administrative duties as needed to support daily departmental operation and activities. This position will complete duties and responsibilities as described below to provide high-quality cost-effective assistance in department administrative functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
Bachelors degree required.
Associates degree and five-seven (5-7) years of office experience may be accepted in lieu of bachelors degree.
Office experience in an educational setting required.
Ability to analyze create and implement policies to accomplish the goals of the department and university.
Ability to organize prioritize and efficiently coordinate various responsibilities and job duties.
Ability to work independently be self-motivated and be proactive to avoid negative consequences.
Ability to respond to rapidly changing business environment.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook). Experience in Blackboard will be helpful.
Ability to multitask (e.g. preparing exams handouts and luncheon meetings simultaneously)
Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Excellent written verbal and culturally appropriate communication skills
Appreciation for scientific research and an understanding of basic science helpful
Exhibits integrity and flexibility with appreciation for punctuality regular attendance and dependability.
