Director of Quality

National remit 150 branch network Homecare live in and complex care

We are representing a large fast growing care organisation at a genuine inflection point. After significant growth in the last year with more planned they now need a Director of Quality who can bring clarity pace and confidence to a complex multi site operation delivering homecare live in and complex care at scale.

Reporting to the Group Counsel you will lead a national quality function of around twelve to thirteen people across six regions including Quality Business Partners Service Improvement Officers Operational Excellence specialists and a strong data lead. With 150 branches c.8000 carers and a trajectory towards 10000 this is a role with real reach and visibility.

The role:

This is not an internal audit role. It is about driving quality across the business setting standards challenging where needed and partnering with operations to deliver better outcomes for around 20000 service users.

You will need to be comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment taking a view quickly and leading through resistance when change is required. The organisation is aiming to move from 89% Good and above to 90% and they want someone who can help them get there through transparency partnership and accountability.

You will lead:

  • A national quality team covering six regions including QBPs SIOs Operational Excellence and data specialists.

  • The quality strategy across homecare live in and complex care

  • Regulatory readiness and improvement planning across 150 branches.

  • A quality approach built on openness collaboration and strong operational partnership.

  • Clear honest reporting to the executive team on performance risk and improvement.

  • The use of AI and data to spot trends prioritise focus areas and modernise how quality work is done.

You will be:

  • Someone who knows their craft. Deep sector knowledge strong CQC experience and the confidence to look at a service and say whether it is working whether it is good and what needs to happen to push it towards outstanding.

  • A leader of accountability. QBPs audit. You lead. You will take the overall view hold branches to account and work with them to make things better.

  • Data and AI literate. You will be expected to use insight and digital tools to surface trends strengthen decision making and help the team work smarter.

  • Transparent and collaborative. Someone who brings openness partnership and a modern approach to improvement.

  • Commercially minded. Quality does not sit in a vacuum. You will work closely with operations clinical leads and other central teams to balance quality compliance and business performance.

You will bring:

  • Strong CQC experience which is essential.

  • Experience in homecare would be beneficial but strong quality leadership from other care settings will also be considered.

  • Experience leading multi site quality improvement at scale.

  • Confidence working at pace and influencing senior leaders.

  • Curiosity modern thinking and a solutions focused approach.

  • Nursing background useful but not essential as clinical expertise already sits within the team.
