The AV Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting audiovisual technology in numerous classrooms and event/conference spaces in multiple buildings on the Harvard campus as well as for remote teaching and learning. This role may be engaged in video productions live streaming video conferences and live audiovisual event support. Ensure presenters are aware of technology and ready prior to the start of events and presentations. May monitor ACV systems and processes tracking and reporting on trends. Assist with maintaining audiovisual equipment and minor repairs as needed

- Additional Job Details : The AV Assistant supports instructors and students during live hybrid-format courses throughout the DCE semesters. This position ensures smooth operation of classroom technology before during and after class. AV Assistants work as part of a team to provide high-quality technical support contributing directly to a positive teaching and learning ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate AV and IT equipment in classrooms prior to scheduled classes and meetingsSupport hybrid course delivery by assisting with video conferencing tools (Zoom etc.)Provide in-class technical assistance to instructors during live sessionsTroubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with AV systems (projectors microphones sound systems)Perform weekly equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure functionalityMaintain classroom technology according to established proceduresRespond to technical support requests from instructors and staff during shiftsMaintain equipment inventoryOrganize equipment during downtime and ensure everything is accounted forAssist with documentation and user guides related to AV system useCollaborate with IT Team and other DCE staff for issue resolutionSchedule & CommitmentOn-campus onlyMust be able to commit to the full shift times:Shift #1 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours) Mon & Tue or 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours) Wed & Thu ORShift #2 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours) Mon & Tue 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours) Wed & ThuQualificationsStrong customer service and communication skillsBasic knowledge of Windows and/or Mac systemsFamiliarity with common office and presentation softwareAbility to work independently and escalate complex problems when necessaryReliable detail-oriented and willing to learn new technologyNo prior AV experience required - training is provided on an ongoing basis
