Long Beach, CA ICSP CT Technologist

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM (12.5 hrs)
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM 6:30 AM (12.5 hrs)
• Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)

• Current valid ARRT (R) Radiologic Technologist required
• Advanced ARRT in Computed Tomography (CT) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
• IV certification preferred but not required

• Demonstrated experience starting IV lines and administering contrast injections
• PACS experience preferred; AGFA PACS a plus
• Ability to independently operate CT scanning equipment
• CT safety practices knowledge
• Ability to efficiently use computers and technology

• Independently operate CT scanning equipment to perform a variety of complex CT imaging exams; practice CT safety at all times
• Receive patients explain procedures position patients select and set technical parameters and set up/adjust accessory equipment
• Operate CT scanner equipment employing radiation-producing imaging to acquire images of the entire body (brain neck spine chest body extremities)
• Set up CT suites ensuring sterile supplies contrast materials catheters and all required equipment are present and available
• Prepare and administer contrast material intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s) - not independently
• Send images to PACS archive images post-process images and perform case editing of computer requests and reports
• Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package and CPRS
• Meet or exceed current nationally recognized quality assurance standards (TJC)
• Comply with all VALBHS policies procedures medical staff bylaws and protocols
• Participate in all VA mandatory training.
