The SAP University Competence Center (UCC) is responsible for supporting faculty and students at approximately 200 academic institutions throughout North America and Asia that participate in SAPs University Alliances program. The Technical Integration Engineer II will work in the SAP UCC at the Lubar College of Business. We are equipped with a modern data center and currently host over 60 SAP servers that support 25 unique training datasets. We perform the installation maintenance and support of SAP products installed on the SAP HANA and SUSE Linux Enterprise platforms. The SAP environment is virtualized using VMware. The Center is one of only two in the Americas and its close partnership with SAP insures access and exposure to the latest SAP software.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in the evaluation of new vendor software releases and impact. Documents and communicates system enhancements or changes
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders identifies needs provides solution options and communicates issue updates and resolutions
- Runs maintains and operates technical systems and infrastructure
- Integrates identifies troubleshoots monitors and resolves moderately complex routine and varied supported services systems network and application problems according to established processes and procedures
- Configures maintains upgrades develops and tests IT systems and services in alignment with industry best practices
- Assists with the planning and coordination of system resources upgrades security implementations and integrations
- Plans and directs staff implementation of small to medium technical projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in information technology management or related business field
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA software
- Ability to explain the differences between on-premise and cloud ERP software and the merits of each
- Deep understanding of business processes and the critical need for ERP systems
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems creatively
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience with analyzing and solving technical issues related to software installations
- Experience with curriculum and datasets developed by members of the SAP University Alliance program
- Understanding of server and datacenter technologies including backup and recovery storage networking power supplies and HVAC
- Experience with creating master data (vendors/customers/materials) in SAP
- Ability to troubleshoot functional SAP issues that may arise
