Job Summary: The Lead Accessories Engineer is a pivotal technical contributor responsible for leading specific engineering projects and initiatives within the gas power portfolio. This role involves applying advanced engineering principles to design analyze and optimize mechanical components while also providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers. The Lead Accessories Engineer will drive technical solutions from concept through implementation ensuring technical excellence safety and performance and actively contributing to continuous improvement efforts.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead technical aspects of specific projectsrelated to the design analysis and optimization of mechanical components across the gas power product portfolio.
- Conduct and oversee advanced thermal stress modal and fatigue analysisof components within gas turbines steam turbines generators and powerplant accessory spaces.
- Plan and execute testing and validationactivities for new and existing designs analyzing complex post-test data to drive design improvements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation including complex drawings layouts and diagrams ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
- Serve as a key technical focal pointfor new Qualifications providing expertise and support to both GE Vernova (GEV) and supplier production teams.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) effortsfor mechanical issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability quality and performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams(engineering manufacturing supply chain services) to optimize designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Take technical ownershipfor specific mechanical hardware components or sub-systems applying and championing mechanical principles and best practices.
- Drive execution of technical taskswithin larger projects and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationshipswith key stakeholders including technical experts and global sites to facilitate project success.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to R&D processes manage technical milestones and participate actively in peer validation and design reviews.
- Contribute significantly to tendering bidsby providing detailed calculations technical recommendations and expert insights.
- Lead and facilitate technical discussionsin design reviews effectively solving complex analytical problems.
- Actively promote and apply Lean principles contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
- Mentor and guide junior engineerson specific technical tasks and project execution sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Civil Process Chemical or Aeronautical Engineering.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Design or Fluids Engineering including demonstrated experience in design analysis or quality within industrial products with a proven ability to lead technical tasks or small engineering projects.
Desired Characteristics
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical problem-solving and drive solutions.
- Strong command of advanced analytical tools such as 1D Flow software (FLOSimulator FLOWSIM) Piping Stress Analysis (AuotPIPE) ANSYS (Fluent Mechanical FEA) NX (CAD/CAE) Python MATLAB VBA or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to various audiences.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement efforts and applying Lean methodologies.
- Solid understanding of gas turbine steam turbine generator or aeroderivative component design and operating principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in engineering.
- Strong focus on safety quality and process rigor.
- Passion for innovative mechanical and aero-thermal design.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document plan market and execute programs. Established project management skills.
