Job Summary

JOB GOAL:

To provide high-quality information systems and PC application support to a diverse LRSD user community. Employees in this role serve as supervised assistants responsible for creating and maintaining reports for multiple departments in accordance with established procedures. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Applications Development Group Coordinator and functions as a member of a programming team within a fast-paced educational environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve (12) month (240 day) contract $46946 - $85646 plus benefit package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt; This is NOT a remote position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  2. Basic to intermediate knowledge of databases and query syntax in any programming language.
  • Demonstrates the ability to write functional code that follows established standards and best practices.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of the project lifecycle from initiation through completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technical concepts and tools.
  • DESIRED SKILLS:

    1. Experience with batch scripting and/or PowerShell.
    2. Experience with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports Cognos SSRS Report Builder or similar platforms.

    1. Develops and maintains Transact-SQL (T-SQL) code using Microsoft SQL Server.
    2. Creates and maintains reports using tools such as Crystal Reports Cognos SSRS Report Builder or similar reporting platforms.
    3. Responds to user requests utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Word.
    4. Assists in defining reporting requirements including gathering information identifying data sources and designing reports.
    5. Provides high-quality customer service to end users through both verbal and written communication.
    6. Collaborates as a member of a programming team in a fast-paced educational environment.
    7. Develops and maintains user documentation and application documentation.
    8. Assists in collecting and reporting data for ADE cycle reports (nine times annually).
    9. Maintains thorough documentation of project processes and procedures.
    10. Supports higher-level programmer analysts as directed.
    11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and downstairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Direct
