Introduction

Come and join us as a Library Assistant.

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Library Assistants to join our Libraries and Heritage Team to help us create welcoming spaces and be at the heart of our libraries front line services. If you are passionate customer-focused and love a fast-paced environment come and join us and make a difference every day to our users and communities.

Whats the role

As a Library Assistant you will be working with the team to deliver library services and act as the face of the Council to all residents and actively promote the full range of library services to customers.

You will assist users in making effective use of the Service maintaining a high standard of personal customer care in all contact with service users.

Location

Roles exits in all Lewisham Hub Libraries Catford Deptford Downham and Lewisham and can either be part time 17.5hrs or full time 35hrs.

Special conditions

  • Part time of 17.5hrs or full time of 35hrs
  • Working up to 7pm twice per week
  • All staff work a 3 week rota with week day hours plus a Saturday one week week day hours and a Sunday the following week and the third week just week day hours. An enhanced payment is paid for weekend

Salary

31086 - 31530 per annum (pro rata for part time) (Scale 3)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) which is subject to evidential proof.
