Job Summary
Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Research Fellow in the Division of Surgery at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
We are looking to appoint enthusiastic ambitious and independent-thinking individual with an interest in surgical research. Successful applicants can expect to undertake independent research supported by academic supervisors this will focus on the daily running of the Starling Trial (comparing robotic vs laparoscopic cholecystectomy).
The Department of General Surgery is an academically ambitious unit with an excellent track record of high impact high volume publications. The post is anticipated to run for 1 year. Prior research experience especially involvement in surgical trials is advantageous but not obligatory.
The successful applicant will be fully funded and will contribute to the general surgical on call rota (i.e. approximately 30% clinical 70% research) at SHO (core trainee level) working together with a team of F1s registrars and consultants.
