POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position of Solutions Engineer I is for the purpose of supporting the Bellevue School Districts data and developed application solutions to ensure effective use in improving student achievement and staff productivity. This position demonstrates an entry level of analysis development and support skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Supports the day-to-day operations of data and developed solutions
Develops and supports solutions for managing data movement in to out of and between various data systems platforms and file types
Maintains and/or implements necessary integration tools such as ETLs (Extract Transform Load) stored procedures and APIs (Application Programming Interface)
Designs develops and maintains standard and custom reports
Gathers and reviews user requirements for new applications and performs analysis design implementation installation and training related to new applications developed and/or acquired
Provides technical advice and support to users. This includes data analysis and correction acceptance testing support and problem solving.
Works collaboratively to proactively identify areas for improvement and enhancement. Keeps up to date on technical advancements and assesses them for viability at the District.
Maintains the integrity security accuracy and confidentiality of all data
Develops and maintains technical documentation
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Reports directly to and is supervised by the Director of Enterprise Applications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required:
Bachelors Degree in related field preferred
One year experience with SQL reporting packages and databases
Preferred:
Prior experience in a public education setting desired
Allowable Substitutions:
Additional years of directly related experience may substitute for the educational requirement
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
Valid Washington State Drivers license
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Demonstrates proficiency in:
oSQL Server
oPowerShell and Windows batch scripting
Knowledge of software design debugging testing documentation and software development process
Knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
General knowledge of Web-based development (HTML JavaScript etc.)
Knowledge of FERPA and the protection of student data
Knowledge of integration strategies and tools to improve interoperability such as ETL API integration and implementation Single Sign-On (SSO) Active Directory IIS Window Server administration etc.
Knowledge of Ed-Fi Data Standards Technology and Operational Data Store
Knowledge of relational database design query optimization and systems analysis
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Ability to display results and data interpretations graphically using data visualization software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong focus on best practices and continuous process improvements
Ability to expand knowledge of technology and information systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry and push pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
CTSA Professional Technical salary classification 5 $102293 to $107676 annual salary (starting at $102293 annual) 40 hours per week for a 260-day annual assignment.
Medical dental vision long-term disability and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. Other benefits include vacation and paid holidays.
