Data Scientist (AI Visibility & Commerce Analytics) Contract

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Sydney. This is a pioneering role focused on defining how we measure success in the Agentic Web. You will be responsible for building the measurement framework that tracks how AI agents discover our products how they rank them and how effectively they convert those discoveries into commerce.

As the bridge between raw data and AI strategy you will provide the insights necessary to optimize our presence across the global AI ecosystem.

The Role

Your mission is to move beyond traditional web analytics into the world of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will establish the baselines metrics and tools required to understand how LLMs and AI agents perceive our product suite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Framework Design: Establish a comprehensive measurement framework for agent visibility and commerce performance.
• Metric Definition: Define and track core metrics for agent discoverabilityunderstanding how and why an AI agent selects a specific product.
• Tooling & Integration: Integrate advanced measurement tools and data platforms to capture non-traditional traffic and agent interactions.
• Performance Baselining: Establish current performance baselines and build the infrastructure for ongoing monitoring of AI platform rankings.
• Impact Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses on how technical optimizations (such as Schema updates and crawler configurations) impact product discovery.

Qualifications :

Technical Requirements

We are looking for a data scientist who is comfortable with high-ambiguity environments and possesses a deep curiosity about AI behavior.

• Analytics Expertise: Strong experience in designing analytics and metrics frameworks from the ground up.
• Visibility Tracking: Proven proficiency with SEO/GEO analytics web visibility tracking and data integration platforms.
• AI Knowledge: A solid understanding of LLM behavior AI platform mechanics and how product ranking algorithms function in a generative context.
• Data Engineering: Experience setting up data collection pipelines for emerging technology domains.
