Join the Shepard Academic Resource Center ( SARC ) and help guide the entire UP community as they access support from our many divisions! As a SARC Ambassador youll build excellent customer service operations and technology skills while providing front desk coverage to students parents and staff & faculty who visit any division of SARC . This includes the Learning Commons where you will connect students with peer tutoring support from our amazing Co-Pilots. Youll also greet students taking exams with Accessible Education Services in our alternative testing space. Our team also helps support First Generation Programming First Year Experience and the Care Team. This position centers hospitality and connection. However it also offers abundant development opportunities and real-life projects for motivated students who are studying in the following areas: Communication ( CAS ) Computer Science (Shiley) OTM (Business) Business Analytics (Business) Marketing (Business) Accounting (Business) MIS (Business) Multiple positions are available this fall. All class years are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
Interest and willingness to interact extensively with students faculty and staff and serve as a positive role model for them in all matters pertaining to university life Personal characteristics which include authenticity approachability enthusiasm tolerance leadership compassion and honesty Strong communication and people skills Comfortable speaking to people in person over the phone or over email Consistently work to improve performance Be open to giving and receiving feedback Overall maturity and sound decision making Must be able to work sitting at a computer desk Participate in all training sessions including an all-day training the weekend before Fall Semester begin. Enrolled in at least 6 credits for the summer session or preregistered for at least 6 credits in the fall by May 15th to be eligible for summer employment
Preferred Qualifications
For the Fall semester preference will be given to qualified applicants who also have mid-day availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Computer skills (Office Word Excel design user experience) Preference will be given to students who have a variety of availability to work 3 hour shifts or longer Preference will be given to students with Federal Work Study in their Financial Aid package.
