Sr Program Manager, Payment Business Operation Latam

We are seeking an experienced Sr Program Manager to join Amazon Latin America Payments Team to lead our partnership initiatives with banking partners financial institutions and payment service providers. This is a crucial role for improving the payment experience for Amazon customers shopping in Latin America through strategic partnerships with schemes acquirers and financial institutions. Your expertise in managing Brazilian-specific payment methods (such as Pix and Boletos) and diverse credit card offerings will be instrumental in enhancing Amazons payment capabilities across LATAM countries.

In this role you will develop and execute partnership strategies negotiate business contracts drive service level agreements and collaborate with internal teams to align partnership goals with overall business objectives. You will leverage your strong communication skills and proven track record in managing complex programs involving technology product teams and accounting teams to deliver exceptional payment experiences for our customers.

Key job responsibilities
* Develop and execute partnership strategies with banks financial institutions schemes and payment service providers to enhance Amazon Latin America payment offerings with particular focus on Brazilian-specific payment methods like Pix and Boletos.
* Secure sign-up and manage working relationships with partners such as acquirers issuers schemes (VISA MasterCard) Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) and Third Party Providers (3PPs).
* Negotiate and finalize business contracts with banking partners ensuring terms that secure high standards for Amazon customers in LATAM markets.
* Drive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through partners to maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction using data to back up decisions and drive improvements.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Product Tech Legal Finance) to align partnership goals with overall business objectives and streamline processes for payment method integration.

A day in the life
In your daily role youll manage the workload from payment partners consolidating all projects requested by the Amazon team in alignment with our strategic goals. Youll serve as an internal advocate for these partners while ensuring they maintain high performance standards. Using data-driven approaches youll track metrics identify improvement opportunities and make decisions that ensure a pleasant and smooth payment experience for our customers. Youll balance managing established partnerships while also exploring new payment solutions that could enhance our regional offerings.

About the team
The Latin American (LATAM) Payment Business Operations team oversees payment programs across LATAM markets serving proprietary stores in Brazil and Mexico while enabling cross-border transactions in eight additional countries and supporting Digital Businesses operations. We manage all partners and country-specific payment methods through local partnerships building roadmaps that drive customer experience improvements by tracking partner performance contract adherence and system availability.

Working closely with local Product teams we enhance customer experiences aligned with regional strategies. Our team is responsible for implementing payment strategies for non-card products across Brazil and Mexico Stores Digital Businesses new business lines and additional local payment methods through our Integration and Launches framework.

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in program or project management
- Speak write and read fluently in English

- Masters degree or MBA in BI finance engineering statistics computer science mathematics finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience leading process improvements
