Job Summary

Senior Manufacturing Engineer CNC Machining (Automotive)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) with strong automotive manufacturing expertise. This is a hands-on shop-floor engineering role focused on CNC programming process optimization and continuous improvement to drive productivity quality and efficiency in high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize CNC machining processes to improve OEE throughput and scrap reduction
  • Develop modify and validate CNC programs for lathes and milling machines (vertical & horizontal)
  • Lead toolpath strategy cutting optimization tooling selection and workholding improvements
  • Troubleshoot machining issues (cycle time tool wear chatter dimensional variation)
  • Support process capability (Cp/Cpk) first-piece approval and quality validation
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality Maintenance and Operations teams
  • Develop and maintain process documentation work instructions and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5 years of CNC programming and machining experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Strong experience with CNC lathes and milling machines (Fuji Mori Seiki preferred)
  • Proficiency in Mastercam (or similar CAM software) and AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of GD&T blueprint reading and tolerance stack-ups
  • Experience with CMMs tool presetters and measurement systems
  • Knowledge of SPC process control and capability studies
  • Hands-on shop floor troubleshooting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High-volume automotive manufacturing experience
  • Multi-axis machining experience
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • ERP/MES system experience
  • Experience leading process improvement projects
