About the role

The Service Support Officer provides specialist business support to the Highways Service with a strong focus on financial administration. The prinipal focus of this position being on supporting the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process alongside activities in income support and debt licences insurance claims budget monitoring and forecasting reconciliations policies processes and systems.

You will work with the Senior Service Support Officer and support the Business Support team in the promotion of effective and efficient service delivery and support and improve the overall performance of all the administrative financial performance and systems activities within the Service supporting change and addressing any resistance encountered.

You will ensure that customer service excellence is at the forefront of all your delivery activities with a drive to maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders suppliers and customers.

About you

Qualifications / Knowledge

  • Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent level of knowledge and experience particularly within a finance or business support environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years post educational relevant work experience
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Teams and SharePoint with confidence handling financial data.

Financial Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Demonstratable experience supporting the endtoend PurchasetoPay process ensuring accuracy compliance and timely processing of transactions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy particularly when processing financial data and maintaining records.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to analyse issues and provide practical solutions across a range of enquiries and complaints.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ability to respond effectively to enquiries and complaints from internal colleagues contractors clients residents and other stakeholders demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
