In accordance with the Mission Vision Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

The Program Associate Physician Quality Improvement/Spreading Quality Improvement (PQI/SQI) Programs provides leadership and is responsible for supporting the PQI/SQI programs by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver program events and education; supporting program operations including budget management invoicing and contracting and reporting; supporting program governance and internal/external communication and promotion; assessing and evaluating activities as part of the PQI and SQI initiatives and contributing to ongoing program-based quality improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Training And Experience

Diploma in Business or Health Administration supplemented with at least five (5) years recent experience in project management and quality improvement in a large complex health care organization or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodology and tools.
  • Knowledge of project ethics and evaluation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to lead plan organize and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
