Job Summary
- Work Environment:
- 13-week contract at Taylor Regional Hospital
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM); 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Primary coverage for a 6-bed Emergency Department (ED) and general care areas
- High autonomy; often the only RT on-site during nights
- Low patient census but requires readiness for high-acuity rapid-response scenarios
- Frequent ALS Diversion status; must stabilize or manage patients independently until transfer or resolution
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide critical respiratory support in the ED including airway management intubation assistance and ventilator initiation
- Independently manage mechanical ventilation BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula therapies
- Execute ALS Diversion protocols: stabilize prepare and coordinate patient transfers
- Deliver routine respiratory care such as nebulizer treatments chest physiotherapy and ABG draws/analysis
- Act as the respiratory subject matter expert for the facility during the night shift
- Qualifications:
- Active RRT credential and valid state license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory; PALS or NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years hospital experience preferably in ED or ICU
- Strong independent practice critical thinking and time management skills
- Compensation & Benefits:
- $58/hour flat rate; local candidates encouraged (no mileage restrictions)
- Predictable fixed schedule with guaranteed weekly hours
