Job Summary

Overview

Shift: Full-time flex schedule working both days and nights 6:00 am - 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm - 6:00 am for 72 hours per pay period. There is a holiday and every 4th weekend rotation.

Provide expert Respiratory Care to diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings ranging from neonates to adults. Deliver safe efficient and compassionate respiratory therapies and diagnostic testing while maintaining equipment documenting accurately and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients respiratory conditions by conducting physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
  • Administerrespiratorytherapiesincludingmedical gasdeliverynebulizationchestphysiotherapyairwaymanagementandmechanicalventilation(invasiveandnon-invasive)forpediatricadolescentadultandneonatalpatients.
  • Performdiagnostictestingsuchasarterialbloodgas(ABG)collectionand analysispulmonary function testingandpulseoximetry
  • Monitorpatientphysiologicalresponsestotreatmentsandadjust careorescalateconcernsasappropriate.
  • Manageartificialairwaysandtroubleshootrespiratoryequipmenttoensurepatientsafetyandtherapyeffectiveness.
  • Activememberofthemedicalemergencyresponseteams.
  • Maintainaccuratetimelyandthoroughdocumentationinthepatientelectronicmedicalrecord(EMR.).
  • Communicateandcollaborateeffectivelywithinterdisciplinaryteamsregardingpatientstatusandtherapyplans.
  • Provideassistancewithinternalpatienttransports.
  • Providepatientandfamilyeducationonrespiratorypathophysiologyandpharmacologictherapies.
  • Set upmaintain and troubleshoot respiratorytherapyequipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor for respiratory therapy students andnew staff.
  • Participate in departmental and multidisciplinary committees focused on quality improvement patient safety and clinicaloutcomes.
Qualifications

Education:

  • AssociatesorBachelors degree in Respiratory Therapyfrom an accredited program.
  • GraduateofaCoARCapprovedRespiratoryCareprogram.

Experience:

  • None.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • MusthavecurrentlicensureingoodstandingtopracticeasaRespiratoryCarePractitionerinState(s)ofPractice.

    • RCPWI
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • MandatoryReporterwithin 90 days of hire.
