About the role
The Buildings & Facilities Lead is entrusted with leading a dedicated and motivated team within the City Assets Department who are responsible for delivering on Councils obligations regarding the management maintenance and development of its key buildings.
In 2024 Council adopted its newest Buildings Assets Management Plan. The Plan encapsulates the Citys strategies in providing accommodation for its civic administrative and operational functions as well as community services such as sporting and recreational activities libraries community centres public amenities and works depot.
Some of the key responsibilities expected of you will be to:
- Deliver Councils annual capital and renewal works programs.
- Ensure the effective management of all Councils building services contracts.
- Liaise with community groups sporting clubs and other Council stakeholders to ensure our buildings and facilities are fit-for-purpose.
- Deliver Councils property requirements relating to its leased buildings and facilities.
You will have a leadership style which is naturally empowering collaborative supportive encouraging and focused on driving a positive team culture. This will enable you to provide the necessary and required advice support and assistance to an engaged Buildings and Property Team.

About you
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Leadership Skills Experience in leading cultural change and providing motivational leadership with sound technical support to enhance and build team capabilities.
- Project Management Skills Experience in managing a wide range of building projects and a proven track record of delivering on expected outcomes.
- Contract & Contractor Management Skills Extensive experience in contract and contractor management to ensure effective and efficient delivery of building services.
- Stakeholder Engagement Experience in effective identification of and engagement with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
