Position Summary
As the Partnership Taxation Senior Manager you will lead the teams production of primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns and provide tax consulting services for partnership clients. You will collaborate with the Partnership Tax team make recommendations on return preparation and tax savings opportunities and focus on accuracy quality and client service.
Must-Haves
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA with active license
- Minimum 10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting experience
- Partnership tax experience
Primary Functions
- Evaluate the tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage the clients Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 704b accounts
- Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan execute direct and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries
- Provide innovative tax planning consulting and compliance expertise to clients; market sell design and implement tax-planning strategies
- Manage develop train and mentor staff on tax projects and assess their performance for engagement and year-end performance reviews
- Research and consult on various tax matters primarily in Sub-chapter K-Partnership taxation; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations ensure deadlines are met and enhance client relationships
- Attract and mentor talented professionals
- Develop and maintain new business and client relationships
- Lead and support business development activities including identification proposal development and pursuit activities at clients
- Travel as needed
Required Skills
- Excellent analytical technical and tax accounting/technology skills
- Proficiency in US GAAP partnership returns joint venture and non-corporate entity tax returns
- Understanding of Sub-chapter K partnership taxation
- Partnership tax compliance and consulting expertise
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong leadership business development recruiting training coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent written interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing fast-paced interactive results-based team environment
