Accounting Manager Commercial Real Estate
Location: Boston MA (Hybrid)
A leading real estate investment and development firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Boston-based team. This is a hands-on high-visibility role overseeing accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial office and life science assets. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including asset management development finance and tax to deliver timely accurate and insightful reporting.
This role is ideal for a real estate accounting professional with 5 years of commercial property or fund-level accounting experience who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced environment and wants exposure across acquisitions development and portfolio operations.

Hybrid model (3 days in office / 2 remote alternating weekly)

Responsibilities:
- Manage financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial assets ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards
- Review property-level financials variance analyses and budgets prepared by third-party management teams
- Oversee lender compliance loan draws and capital call/distribution activity
- Prepare consolidated financials and ownership reporting packages
- Partner with asset management and development teams on acquisitions dispositions and project-level cash flow forecasting
- Contribute to process improvements system enhancements and internal control initiatives
Key Qualifications:
- 5 years of real estate accounting experience (commercial mixed-use or development)
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP CAM reconciliations and lender reporting
- Experience preparing both property-level and consolidated financial statements
- Hands-on experience with Yardi or MRI (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Prior supervisory experience a plus
